How to use Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a free tool to get the statistics of the user who is visiting the website. By using this tool owner of the website gets all the relevant details about the user who visits their website. It is a very efficient tool for marketers and bloggers because they can track their customers easily. Adding to it they can also look for the scope of improvement of their website. So let us learn how to use Google Analytics.
In home page of Google analytics you will find four options:
- Bounce rate
- Session duration
Users: users mean the no of people visited the website for the first time. It is unique in nature that means if the person is visiting the site again it will not be counted as a user.
Session: session mean the no of time the website is being opened. If the user opens the website for more than one time then every time the user opens the website it is counted in the session.
Bounce rate: bounce rate means if the user opens the website and closes it without opening any other page then it is counted in the bounce rate. It is measured in percentage.
Session duration: session duration how much time the person is spending time in your website.
Various function in Google Analytics
You can also sort the data according to date and time. You can set the date to specific time period to compare your visitors with other time period. In this way you will get a proper idea of your website performance, whether it is increasing or decreasing. At the top right hand corner of the home page you will find a button“Intelligence”. If you are unable to perform any work or you don’t know what to do then by clicking on this button a dialogue box will open. In that box you can search your query and it will give you the solution.
Another option you will get in home page of Google analytics is “audience overview”. If you will click on this link a new page will open. In this page you will find a no of option. The most important part is you will get all the minute details about your user. In audience overview you can find out the details of your visitors like location, device, age, gender, operating system, etc. adding to these you can export all of the data in PDF, excel, Google sheets and csv.
One of the most fascinating features of Google analytics is its Real time tool. In real time tool you will get to track your visitor at any point of time. At any point of the day if you wish to analyze your website or you want to know at this point of time who is visiting your website or from which location your user is viewing your page or on which page he is spending time. Anything you want to know about your user at point of time you will get to know by using real time tool.
